On Saturday April 24th, I received an award and recognition from The Consulate General of Nigeria - New York, delivered by both Ambassador Ben Okoyen, Consul General of Nigeria and Ambassador Nicholas Ella, Trade Commissioner in recognition of my contributions towards Nigeria's development and dedicated partnership with the Government. The award was presented to me during a virtual Town Hall meeting.

Over the years I have had the distinguished honor and pleasure of working with the Consulate under the leadership of Ambassador Ben Okoyen in various capacities. As example I was part of a handful of influential Nigerian-Americans invited to meet and engage privately with the President of Nigeria - President Muhammadu Buhari during a visit to New York to explore ways to advance trade, investment and relations with the diaspora and America.

In 2019 I engaged with the Vice President of Nigeria - Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and advocated for Nigeria to sign the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA)...


I had the pleasure of also host the Consul General and his team here in Chicago during the 2019 edition of the Trade with Africa Business Summit which was a resounding success and they where extremely impressed.

In November 2020 as well, I hosted the first edition of the Nigeria Investment Conference (NIC) virtually with support from the Consulate General of Nigeria - New York and participation from key government agencies including the Nigeria Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) and others at the Presidency.

Educating and Connecting Policy & Business Leaders in International Trade & Development

Lessons learned from Hosting 100+ Speakers in Government and Business - What's Next?

  ----A few weeks ago, while I was being introduced on Clubhouse, someone said "Toyin is a fountain of knowledge...".
