Congratulations to Ambassador Ben Okoyen for his new appointment as Nigeria's Ambassador to Cuba. I seriously appreciate the note that he sent to me this weekend (below) to notify me of this important distinction.

I had the pleasure and honor of working with him while he was the Consul General of the Nigerian Consulate in New York. I hosted him and other members of his team here in Chicago during the Trade with Africa Business Summit in 2019. In 2020 we also partnered as I launched and hosted the first edition of the Nigeria Investment Conference. His team secured governmental high level delegates including at the Federal and Presidential levels of government.

It was inspiring to also collaborate with him on various other initiatives for example: As he served as Chairman of African Consuls Generals in the U.S.A. and invited me to address his peers across African Consulates in the U.S.A on advancing Trade and Investments for the Continent.
