This engagement will take place September 7 - 12th with theme “Building Bridges for a Successful AfCFTA” and I will be leading a global delegation to this high profile event. The IATF2021 Advisory Council, which oversees the event execution and governance, is led by H.E. Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, former President of Nigeria, as Chair and includes Mr. Jean-Louis EKRA, former President of Afreximbank, and H.E. Ambassador Albert Muchanga, African Union Commissioner for Economy, Trade, Industry and Mines.

The inaugural edition of IATF in 2018 attracted over 2,500 conference delegates, thousands more as buyers and visitors and over 1,000 exhibitors from 45 countries resulting in over $32 billion worth of trade and investment deals that were signed at the event. Watch CNBC's coverage of the inaugural 2018 edition in video below:

IATF2021 provides a unique and valuable platform for businesses to explore an integrated African market of over 1.2 billion people with a combined GDP of over US$2.5 trillion created under the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA). The 2021 event is expected to attract over 10,000 visitors and buyers and more than 5,000 conference participants from all 55 African countries and over 1,000 exhibitors. IATF2021 is expected to also generate up to US$40 billion in trade and investment deals and includes engagements such as:

  • The IATF Automotive Show: The Automotive Show segment will have a dedicated Auto Exhibition, an Automotive Workshop and a B2B/B2G for the Automotive Industry. IATF Automotive Show will present a platform for car manufacturers, assemblers, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs)
  • Creative Africa Nexus: This will enable the showcasing of Africa’s creative economy. It will include a focus on music, film, fashion, arts and craft, CANEX Summit, a dedicated Creative Industry Exhibition, deal room and creative impressions will also feature.
  • Youth Start-Up Program: The Youth Start-Up segment will have a dedicated Pavilion for Youth Start-Ups in Africa where they will showcase their goods and services, and IATF2021 will provide opportunities for matchmaking with venture capitalists, entrepreneurship training, networking amongst the youth and other delegates at the IATF

I look forward to sharing more information and members of my Trade with Africa Network are fully recognized on the IATF platform and positioned to secure exclusive access and supporting resources as part of my delegation to Rwanda.
