The 🔌Power of a Marketplace in Accelerating Trade & Investments

If you have something to buy or something to sell you go to a Marketplace where you know you have the high chance of meeting those who can buy what you are selling and those who are selling what you wish to buy. Those who have attended any of Masterclasses, training or trade programs have heard me talk about the following 3 markets:

  1. Your Local Market
  2. Your Regional Market
  3. The Global Market

The local market is relative to where you live and do business. It is how you buy and sell in your country. For me it is the US market. Your regional market is trade within your region. For those in Africa it has been expanded to coverage of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). For those of us in North America it is Canada, US and Mexico. The Global market represents everywhere else.

The reason I like to explain these 3 markets is to help people understand that the rules of engagements changes as you attempt to engage within those different markets. Just because you are winning currently in your local market doesn't mean that you are ready to engage successfully regionally or globally. You have to prepare and learn. Many run on false assumptions that they can bring their products to the global market and it would be accepted immediately... they have tales of rejections at the ports...

People also assume that the Market will come to them not realizing that they have to get into the right Marketplace to secure proximity to decision makers...

Virtual marketplaces will drive trade and the Trade with Africa® Network was designed with this in mind. Members are reaping reward because they can now access stakeholders who wish to buy from them or sell to them. We support them with policy related information, training and the latest resources. See screenshot:

The first step in driving trade is to connect with potential trade partners. Once you are within their vicinity of those who can buy from or sell to you then you can begin to engage with them.
